A new default UK_250206.hex file has been made available for download for the HDSM series of meters including an update for Wideband LNB.

Astra-2 at 28.2 East (Sky UK & Freesat) no longer has any DVB-S QPSK transponders available on Horizontal High. Fixes have been applied so that VL and HL Astra-2E 28E are updated along with both wideband selections UK_241010.hex is the latest file for the HDSM as of 10/10/2024.

The Horizon meters have now far exceeded their practical operational life span and over time they will lose more functionality as DVB-S and DVB-T services transition to DVB-S2 and DVB-T2. Eventually the older modulation schemes that provide a lock for the earlier meters will no longer be available and they will cease to function. The DVB-S2 and DVB-T2 models are likely to continue to be usable, but will rely upon there internal re-programmable custom carrier or scan functions.

The old WordPress site for Horizon meter resources has now been replaced by this one. Some additional materials have been uploaded, including more user guides and product reviews from Tele-Satellite magazine.
